What do I do if I miss taking a pill?
Ovral works best and is at its most effective if you make sure to take it at the same time each day rather than at ‘irregular’ times. Provided that you remember within 12 hours of when you would normally have taken it- you can still take your ‘missed’ pill and be protected . However, if it’s more than 12 hours since you should have taken a dose of Ovral, then you must take two pills on the same day (both the one you missed AND the one for the day of that course). It would be very wise and responsible to use some additional birth control also for 7 days after the day you missed an Ovral dose. Of course, this only applies if you miss an ACTIVE pill- not if you miss a ‘dummy’ pill.
